Dr Nakaji is one of the leading neurosurgeons in the United States and is best known for his expertise in vascular, tumor, endoscopic, and minimally invasive neurosurgery. A pioneer in neuroendoscopy,  Dr Nakaji developed the minimally invasive surgical procedure commonly referred to as the “keyhole” surgery, for trigeminal neuralgia, colloid cysts, brain tumors, and other conditions. Dr Nakaji is committed to advancing minimally invasive techniques that enable faster recoveries. As a foremost authority on the treatment of aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, cavernous malformations, skull base surgery, and brain and spinal tumors, he is often referred technically challenging cases by his colleagues. 

In 2019, Dr Nakaji was appointed the executive director of the Banner University Medicine Neuroscience Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He also serves as the chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at Banner for the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix.
